We are the soon-to-be Summers family. Well, I suppose we are already, I'm the late addition. Scott and I met February 2009. We were both on dates with other people and happened into each other. Actually, Scott was being a gentleman and offered me his jacket. We exchanged numbers after both of our dates left. A few days later I hadn't heard from him, so I made contact first. I did the brave thing and texted him. Real brave, right? We went on our first date a couple of days later and have been together ever since.
Aftrer a few months of dating Scott introduced me to his two beautiful children. Karli, who is currently seven, and Walker, who just turned four. Walker took awhile to warm up to a new female in his life, but he's accustomed to it now and is constantly saying, "Jessi". Karli and I hit it off right off the bat. We all love each other very much.
We really enjoy doing family activities, whether it be going to the park, coloring, playing games, going to the zoo...you name it. Just as long as we get to spend time together. Since Scott and I only get the kids every other weekend we take advantage of the time with them as much as possible. When we don't have the kids we're pretty much just busy working.
Scott does part-time electrical work. He also started his own company this last summer called Safety Performance Coatings. He specializes in epoxy garage floors and acid staining. It's something he has done for years and really enjoys it.
I, Jessica, am a caregiver to Scott's sweet grandmother, Lorraine. She is 93 years old and needs somebody with her constantly. I have my esthetician license and am taking a break from the field at the moment, though I hope to get back at it soon.
Scott and I are looking forward to getting married next summer! He proposed in September and we've been busy planning ever since!
