Keepin' Cozy

Since we didn't get the kids again until the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving we decided to be REALLY early this year and set up our Christmas tree the weekend before Thanksgiving. The kids were so excited to decorate their first Christmas tree of the year. Not to mention that this is our first tree as a family.
There's this fat little cat named Chet. He's been here for eight years and the kids LOVE him. He's an outdoor cat mind you, so he's not incredibly good at being inside. Well, since there was snow outside and "Poor little fat Chet was freezing" we brought him inside for a bit. You actually can't se how fat he is in these pictures, but trust me...he's HUGE!

Wonderful Winter Wonderland

Last weekend had the kids. It snowed quite a bit.
*********
They had a blast! Scott went out and made a snowman with them.
They were way too excited for how cold it was.

Walker was trying to ride his bike in the snow...he crashed

He decided to stick to the shoveled driveway for a little bit
Don't ask me why Karli doesn't have her coat on

This was first thing in the morning. I just wanted a picture in the snow. He got a little carried away. Don't worry...he was only outside like this for about five minutes before we got him dressed a little warmer.

Yay! Leaves!!!

Remember how much fun jumping in the leaves was???
I know I sure do.
Well, my babies begged me to please make a pile of leaves for them to jump in...how could I refuse???
The neighborhood kids all came over and had to enjoy it as well.

Let it Snow...

Yes...it has snowed.
A few days ago we got our first hopeful look into winter.
It was in the mountains, but hey...it was there.
Scott and I were able to just go for a nice long drive up Immigration Canyon.
I told him to stop so I could take a picture.
It was very pretty.
He parked and got out.
It was cold; I just rolled down my window.
I prepare to snap and shoot...
I get creamed by the first snowball of the year
I screamed.
At Scott.
He ran and jumped back in the car.
(I'm not as rude as he is, I would NEVER get somebody in an enclosed space)
He took the camera and got these priceless shots.

If you know me at all everything about my body language here says I am irrate

I got out of the car to brush off

Pumpkin Carving Party

The Summers Family is obsessed with Halloween...like really obsessed. It's cool though, the kids get to see each other a lot and have a good time. There are so many fun activities to do with them this time of year. Last Saturday we had everybody over for a Pumpkin Carving Party. Well, it was Lara's idea, we just were the ones to host, which was lots of fun! Lara, Mike, and Tori came. Kristine brought the little girl she nannies, Marley. What would a Pumpkin Carving Party be without Grandpa Summers as well? So, that was it...plus us.

Story of the day:
I noticed Walker playing alone in the toy room. As he plays very well with himself I wasn't concerned. He was way obsorbed in his train building. Like way TOO obsorbed. Kristine and I got on our hands and knees, slowly approached the door. He turned around a couple of times to grab something, so we had to back off. Finally, the perfect moment...I yelled "Boo!" Kristine just yelled. I have honestly never seen a look like that on the kids face before. He honestly stopped and dropped. I think I gave my 4 year old a heart attack. Then he did what any normal Walker would do...got pissed. Like wouldn't look at me or talk to me kind of mad. Burn...the silent treatment. Candy corn helped. He survived...poor kid.
Hehehehehehehehe.....the witching hour begins

An Announcement

Yay! We're engaged!!! We set a date for August 20, 2011
The kids are excited and so are we!

Mike and Lara's Wedding

Scott's brother Mike got married at the end of September. Here are a few pictures from it:
Scott and Karli (it's all she could talk about) Walker was exhausted. For an hour and a half he came up to me and said, "Jessi, I'm SO tired, can we please go home and go to bed?" I was bridesmaid so I went into the bridal room to grab something and this is what I found: naughty little girls getting in make-up. But they're cute so it's ok, right?

Family Time

Walker and I had a couple minutes to ourselves...I thought I'd share the love
Do a surprised face: Do a sad face:

Walker's 4th Birthday!!!

Yes, that's right our little guy is four! I honestly can't believe it. He is getting so big and he is such a blessing in our lives. The sweetest little boy I've ever met. We got him an RC Monster Truck for his birthday and he was SOO excited! It was the cutest thing ever to hear him literally scream for joy.

My Holly

I have this profound love for my Holly. We met a few years ago and honestly, she's totally a kindred spirit. Yes, I just said kindred spirit. I doesn't matter how out of my mind bitchy I am, she is always there for me. We're on the same mental and emotional wavelength. She doesn't sugarcoat things, which I think is why we've never really diagreed on anything. She's real, and I love her.
Which makes me come to this. She saw this quote and sent it to me via facebook:
"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." ----Marilyn Monroe

Now I laughed out loud when I read it because she said: "Jess, I found us the perfect quote!" She's dead on. I read it to Scott and he laughed and said, " Who sent you that?" My reply, "Holly" He says, "Well, that's pretty much you isn't it?"

My Holly is one of the best friends ever. And yes, I just totally dedicated a post to my BFF Holly.

Sweet Nothings

Here are a few little things I don't have a ton of pictures of, but I love it! Basically just random pictures I have that are so fun and sweet!

On our way home from Grandma Kathy's cabin in Idaho. Karli fell asleep on Walker and he was rubbing her head. Sweet little boy. They really get along well

Tori and Karli playing in the sprinklers

Tori and Karli are only a few months apart and both cute little things. I don't know why, but this is one of my favorite pictures of them
Mike and Lara have an awesome sandbox in their backyard.
Scott, Mike, and Walker made this cool octopus one day.

Gammy!

The Ward Family Reunion was the beginning of August. Unfortunately we had the surprise of Gammy coming home! Well, not unfortunately, but we missed going to the reunion and we were actually really bummed out about it. Scott has never been to Washington and I haven't been up for awhile. At the end of June I lost my job at American Laser Centers. Fortunately for me the family was looking for a caretaker for little ol' Gammy, so I get to stay home and take care of her. I have a few days off during the week, which is nice, but it's definitely a full time job. She's almost 93 and is actually doing remarkably well for her age. She is the sweetest thing and fiesty as can be. She just needs somebody to do things for her (like cook and clean) throughout the day.

We all played Texas Hold'em (she's a shark)
